How to Save Money On Gas

It’s no mystery that gas prices are off the charts right now. Today’s national average is $5.01—an all-time high never seen since AAA began collecting pricing data in 2000. Here is some great information on how to save money on gas this summer.

Here Are Some Tips To Save Money On Gas

A great tool to ease the gas price conundrum is Google Maps. Google has started offering alternate routes to avoid hills and also easy accessibility to finding the cheapest stations around you or en-route.

There are also some great Fuel Reward Programs that can help you save money. GasBuddy offers its own fuel savings program called Pay with GasBuddy. Join for free, and you’ll save up to 25 cents per gallon when you fill up at most national gas station chains. You can also sign up for a paid version. Pay with GasBuddy Premium is $9.99 a month and offers up to 40 cents off per gallon plus 24-hour roadside assistance.

Another tip is to fill up your tank early in the week. According to a 2019 GasBuddy gas price analysis, gas prices tend to be the lowest on Mondays and Tuesdays. If you’re looking to buy cheap gas, avoid filling your tank on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays, when gas prices tend to be the most expensive.

Military Discounts

Thankfully the Military doesn’t expect their soldiers to start car pooling or buying bicycles instead, they have taken charge in raising reimbursements for their members.

The change will mean the mileage rate for permanent change of station, or PCS, travel during the busiest summer months will increase from 18 cents to 22 cents per mile, and the rate for temporary duty, or TDY, travel will jump from about 59 cents to 63 cents for the second half of this year.

While this increase may not seem like a lot, it is the largest single increase in mileage rates since 2011.

Hang in there my friends. I hope this helps save you time, money, and worry as we get through this high gas price surge together. As always, you can also contact via Facebook, Instagram, or LinkdIn. Or reach out here through the contact form.
